It is often known as an effective means of pain relief, but it is in fact used to treat people with a wide range of illnesses. Traditionally, acupuncture is used to treat illness, and maintain people's health and wellbeing. Its focus is on improving the overall well being of the patient, alongside the treatment of specific symptoms.

Acupuncture is also used to aid fertility and to help with stopping smoking.
It is a tried and tested system of complementary medicine, which many eastern cultures have been using to restore and maintain good health for thousands of years.
